Role of the Safeguarding Committee
The role of the Safeguarding Committee is supportive and developmental. Its role is not related in any way to the management of individual cases of suspected or alleged abuse. The committee is responsible for provisions of training, safe recruitment of volunteers and staff within their service area. The committee is to be primarily focused on creating, maintaining and monitoring a safe environment for children in all aspects of Church life and activity and for advising on the human resources required for implementing best safeguarding practice across services.
